Skip the brooder and start closer to eggs with the King of All Poultry. Our Light Brahma pullets are started birds — already showing the warm buff and grey plumage with feathered feet that makes this majestic breed impossible to miss in any flock.

What you're getting:

  • 🪶 Soft buff feathering with grey hackle and tail markings, and feathered feet — the regal Brahma look developing from the start
  • Fast-growing and cold-hardy — their large size and dense feathering make them exceptionally winter-hardy
  • 🐓 Calm and docile personalities — one of the most gentle large breeds, great with children and mixed flocks

At maturity:

  • 150–200 medium brown eggs/year — often continues laying through winter
  • Striking black and white plumage with feathered legs — a truly majestic bird
  • Superior cold tolerance — one of the most winter-hardy breeds available
  • Dual-purpose — impressive size makes them an excellent table bird as well

Chick care overview

Brooder temperature: Start at 95°F for the first week, reducing by 5°F each week until fully feathered.

Food & water: Offer chick starter feed and fresh water immediately. Dip each chick's beak gently into the water on arrival to encourage drinking.

Hydration boost: We include hydration supplements in your shipment — add to water for the first 24–48 hours to help chicks recover from transit.

Space: Allow at least 0.5 sq ft per chick in the brooder for the first few weeks.

Watch for: Huddling under the heat source (too cold), panting or moving away from heat (too warm). Active, spread-out chicks are happy chicks.
