Wholesale Program

Partner with Chesapeake Farm & Hatchery for healthy, high-quality day-old chicks. Located in Preston, Maryland, we support farms, feed stores, retailers, and poultry resellers with competitive wholesale pricing and flexible breed selection.

2027 orders open November 1, 2026, with our first hatch scheduled for February 23, 2027. Visit our website to place your order.

Order Requirements & Availability

Minimum order: 50 chicks, in any combination of available breeds.

Order lead time: At least three weeks before your selected hatch date.

Confirmation: Availability is confirmed before your invoice is issued.

Final quantities: Subject to hatch rate, fertility, and sex ratio availability. Your final invoice will be adjusted if necessary.

What’s wholesale-priced: Wholesale pricing applies to day-old chicks only. Started pullets, hatching eggs and poultry supplies are sold at our regular retail prices, even when you’re signed in to your wholesale account.

Volume Incentive Pricing

Discounts apply to the total number of chicks ordered for a single hatch date.

50–300 chicks: Base wholesale pricing.

301–500 chicks: 5% discount.

501 or more chicks: 7% discount.

Optional Marek’s vaccination: $0.20 per chick.

Payment Terms

A 15% deposit is required at the time of order. Your invoice will be sent after availability is confirmed and will specify the balance due date. Orders not paid in full by the due date may be released.

Cancellation Policy

Once your order is placed, your chicks are reserved for you and removed from availability for other customers. For this reason, the 15% deposit is nonrefundable if you cancel your order.

Shipping

Wholesale chicks ship by USPS Priority Mail in live-chick boxes packed with hydration gel, heat packs and insulation. Shipping is charged per box:

  • 50 chicks (one 50-chick box): $49.95
  • 51–100 chicks (one 100-chick box): $59.95
  • Over 100 chicks: one 100-chick box for each 100 chicks or part of 100, up to 500 chicks, at $59.95 per box. For example, 250 chicks ship in 3 boxes for $179.85.

Optional Express Shipping

Want them faster? Choose USPS Priority Mail Express at checkout instead of Priority Mail:

  • 50 chicks (one 50-chick box): $66.95
  • 51–100 chicks (one 100-chick box): $76.95
  • Over 100 chicks: $76.95 per box, with the same box count as Priority Mail. For example, 250 chicks ship in 3 boxes for $230.85.

Shipping farther than a day's drive from Maryland, such as south of the Carolinas or west of Ohio? We recommend Priority Mail Express. Express chicks are loaded first and usually arrive sooner, but USPS does not guarantee delivery times for live animals.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is available the Wednesday after your hatch date, from 9 AM to 2 PM, at our Preston, Maryland, location.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Live arrival is guaranteed for shipped orders. Report any loss within 24 hours to request a refund under our policy. See the full policy at www.chesapeake-hatchery.com.

Wholesale Rooster Credit Policy

We stand behind our sexing. Our sexer comes from the commercial poultry industry and has an accuracy rate of over 90%. Even so, sexing day-old chicks isn't perfect, and an occasional rooster can slip through.

If a chick you bought as a female turns out to be a rooster, we'll credit you the wholesale price of that bird toward your next order.

To receive credit:

  • Email photos or other proof of the rooster to chicks@chesapeake-hatchery.com when the bird is between 14 and 22 weeks old.
  • Include your store name, delivery date, breed, and the number of roosters.
  • Your customers can bring their photos to your store, and you can send them to us together.

Good to know:

  • Credits go toward your next order. They aren't paid out as cash refunds.
  • Credits cover the wholesale price paid per bird. They don't include delivery, vaccination, or other fees.
  • This policy covers chicks we hatch and sell as females. Straight run chicks aren't included, and poultry from our partner hatcheries follows that hatchery's guarantee.
  • We can't accept reports before 14 weeks or after 22 weeks, because early signs can be misleading.
