The K&H Poultry Waterer is unlike any waterer on the market! K&H is all about solving problems, and we've done an amazing job on this product. The K&H Poultry Waterer is available in heated and unheated models. Each model includes those problem solving features that no other brand offers. All K&H Poultry Waterers are 100% BPA free. The easy flow design fills the tray gently. ..no more muddy mess from half the water spilling over when refilling. The thermostatically controlled heated model is extremely economical, using only 60 watts to keep an ice-free watering device for your chickens. The heated model is MET listed for safety.
No-roost Top: The unique tank design of the K&H Poultry Waterer's tank keeps your chickens from roosting on the top. No more droppings in the water or all over the tank! Can you imagine. ..a waterer that stays clean? Hard to believe, I know!
Filtered Water Tray: The easy to remove filter tray allows you to clean the water tray in seconds. No draining needed, just remove the filter tray and tap lightly or spray with water to remove debris. It really doesn't get any easier than that, does it!
Spill-proof Tank Cap: The spill-proof cap guarantees no spilling! No more spilling out half the tank trying to assemble it into the base. The water tank is fully contained with this nifty little cap until assembled on the base.
Easy-carry, No-rust Tank: Carrying a poultry waterer tank can be a challenge, but with the K&H Poultry Waterer we've got that 'handled'! (Yes, pun intended). Just pick it up and go, you only need one hand! Plus, the no rust construction ensures many years of rust-free use.
Interesting facts about your chicken's water needs: Fresh, clean water is vital for the health of chickens. Did you know that chickens are nearly 70% water and their eggs are approximately 74% water? In order for a chicken to lay a 2oz egg, they need 1.5oz of water for just ONE egg. Needless to say, water is nearly the most essential nutrient. Chickens need to consume twice as much water compared to humans on a relative basis. Laying hens should have at least 8% of their body weight in water per day. At normal temperature, chickens consumer 1.6-2 times as much water as feed.

- 2.5 gallon reservoir with easy carry handle

Chick care overview
Chick care overview
Brooder temperature: Start at 95°F for the first week, reducing by 5°F each week until fully feathered.
Food & water: Offer chick starter feed and fresh water immediately. Dip each chick's beak gently into the water on arrival to encourage drinking.
Hydration boost: We include hydration supplements in your shipment — add to water for the first 24–48 hours to help chicks recover from transit.
Space: Allow at least 0.5 sq ft per chick in the brooder for the first few weeks.
Watch for: Huddling under the heat source (too cold), panting or moving away from heat (too warm). Active, spread-out chicks are happy chicks.
