Skip the brooder and start closer to eggs. Our Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets are started birds โ€” past the fragile chick stage and well on their way to becoming the striking, productive hens this breed is known for.

What you're getting:

  • ๐Ÿชถ Gray with dark chipmunk striping โ€” early feathering that will develop into the classic silver and black laced adult plumage
  • โšก Hardy and fast-feathering โ€” Silver Laced Wyandottes are robust birds that transition well from brooder to coop
  • ๐Ÿ“ Calm, easy-going temperament โ€” integrates well into existing flocks, great for families

At maturity:

  • 200โ€“240 large brown eggs/year
  • Striking silver and black laced plumage with a rose comb
  • Extremely cold-hardy โ€” minimal frostbite risk
  • Dual-purpose heritage breed

Weeks to first egg: 18โ€“20 weeks from hatch
Egg size: Large
Egg color: Brown

Closer to eggs, less time in the brooder โ€” reserve your Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet today.

Chick care overview

Brooder temperature: Start at 95ยฐF for the first week, reducing by 5ยฐF each week until fully feathered.

Food & water: Offer chick starter feed and fresh water immediately. Dip each chick's beak gently into the water on arrival to encourage drinking.

Hydration boost: We include hydration supplements in your shipment โ€” add to water for the first 24โ€“48 hours to help chicks recover from transit.

Space: Allow at least 0.5 sq ft per chick in the brooder for the first few weeks.

Watch for: Huddling under the heat source (too cold), panting or moving away from heat (too warm). Active, spread-out chicks are happy chicks.
